About Me
I was born and grew up in the dynamic city of Hong Kong, moved to New Zealand at the age of 19 and returned ‘home’ to Hong Kong 15 years later. I strongly believe that my multi-cultural background, over 40 years international and local work experience, across a broad spectrum of industries and businesses, gives me the ability to communicate and engage with people at all levels of seniority, bridging cultural, language and geographic boundaries, and across a diverse range of personalities, philosophies and professions.
My Approach
I've been working as a communications training consultant and coach since 2008. I work collaboratively with my clients to make them more effective in life and at work, develop their executive presence and leadership skills, where appropriate, and help them define and achieve their longer term goals.
I regularly work with senior executives up to 'C' suite level, in both small groups and individually; in Hong Kong, China, and throughout the Asia Pacific region.
My coaching style is influenced by my own background and experience. Born and raised in Hong Kong, I have extensive knowledge of the local business environment, but more importantly I’ve learned to listen and question, to understand what motivates people and what holds them back, and against a background of cultural difference, to understand that not everyone thinks, communicates and acts in the same way. Flexibility and sensitivity are the key to being able to offer my clients a different view of the world, a way to move forward and the motivation and skills to succeed.
I understand first-hand the many issues that can affect busy professionals working in the Asia-Pacific region, and believe my knowledge and approach can offer real insights and value to the clients I work with.
When I’m not working with my clients, I enjoy life on lovely Lamma Island, walking Lily the dog, enjoying a swim at the beach and when possible indulging my passion for fishing!
